U of S professors among highest-paid in country, but wage cut possible
University of Saskatchewan professors were among the highest-paid in Canada last year, although that could change as the institution prepares to make cuts in response to a five per cent reduction in its operating grant from the province. The U of S announced last month that it plans to chop central funding to its various colleges and programs by $8.4 million in 2017-18, but its associate vice president of human resources declined to say if faculty members will be asked to take a pay cut. Changes to fine option program could hurt Sask. non-profits
If the government’s legislative amendments go through on July 1, people with traffic safety and parking tickets will no longer be able to choose the fine option program. The move is expected to save the government about $250,000 a year in administrative costs and generate about $850,000 more in fine revenue. Click here to read more …

Vince Young makes major impression at Riders mini-camp
VERO BEACH, FLA. — Nearing 34, Vince Young didn’t look that old during Day 1 of the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ mini-camp. The former University of Texas Longhorns and NFL quarterback, who is attempting a comeback, looked slimmer than he was when the CFL’s Roughriders introduced him at a media conference on March 9.
